Family Fun

One of the best features of the Children's Museum in Easton is the opportunity for parents and children to work together to learn and explore at the Museum. The possibilities are endless, from the arts and crafts room where they can make fun and creative projects, to the Enchanted Forest where kids can learn to tell stories to their parents, to the FETCH! Lab, where I see parents and children on a regular basis work together on the numerous projects we offer.

This week we have been working on gumdrop domes in the FETCH! Lab, and it has truly been a family experience. Parents worked with their children to help them design their domes, making them as strong as possible, while identifying patterns and shapes within their buildings. This is just one of the many examples of the opportunity for family interaction here at The Children's Museum in Easton.

Mardi Gras Was a BLAST!

Hey guys! Sorry its been a while, I've just been so busy this past week and a half. I had a blast at the Mardi Gras Madness! We had a long day setting up decorations, but the outcome was worth it. There were fire jugglers and magicians and great music that kept everyone dancing, especially Bill and Rosemarie. I still have my purple bear balloon animal that the magician gave me. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and attended for all of our donations and sponsors!

I missed my FETCH! Lab hours this past week because I was away for Spring Break in New York City, which was really fun. I went with my roommate Paige, who also goes to Stonehill with me. We did some sightseeing around Times Square, which was where we stayed, and even went and saw a show on Broadway. We had a great time, but its good to be back here with you guys!

Did you happen to see our recent review on One Mom's Review? Mandy Grenier who run's the blog took some time with her son to visit The Children's Museum in Easton a few weeks ago. She had so much fun that she gave us a 4.5 out of 5 smile rating! We're glad that they had such a good time during their visit, they especially enjoyed our golf ball raceway! Be sure to check out her blog and read our review as well as the numerous others she posts on her site!

Mardi Gras Madness

I know its only Wednesday, but I'm really excited for this weekend! The whole gang from the Children's Museum in Easton is going to our Annual Mardi Gras Madness! We'll be over at the Shaw's Center in Brockton starting at 7 p.m. for some grown-up festivities. There's going to be music from DJ Rob Peters as well as the Hot Tamale Brass Band to keep us dancing all night. Be sure to try some of the scrumptious New Orleans cuisine and raw bar. And don't forget our silent auction, where we'll have some great items up for bid, including Red Sox Tickets, four one day Park Hopper Passes for Walt Disney World, and a private tour and wine tasting for ten people at Sakonnet Vineyards. Its going to be so much fun. The money raised from the auction will benefit your FAVORITE local museum as well as the Brockton Day Nursery. Tickets are $60 a person. Hope to see you there!
