Look Who's New at the Museum!

Hi fellow bloggers! I'm Bridget, one of the new interns here at The Children's Museum in Easton. I'm a senior at Stonehill College right here in Easton, and this May I will be graduating (YIKES!) with a degree in English. It seems like just yesterday that I was making my way into Moreau Hall for kindergarten, and now I'm almost done with college!

I have a few different duties here at the museum. You can find me down in the Fetch! Lab on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm or so, working on some fun and exciting experiments. Since I've been here we've made hovercrafts out of balloons, old CDs and other materials that combined to make them soar across the table. Today we threw our weight around and learned about how our body balances.

In addition to my work out in the Fetch! Lab, I also have duties in the office, including being the new blogger for the museum. It looks like the previous interns have done a great job with the blog, so I hope I can keep it up! Keep dropping by to see what we're up to in the Fetch! Lab as well as some other great happenings here at the Children's Museum in Easton!

Welcome to the New Interns :)

We've had a new crew of interns starting at the Museum the past couple of weeks as they've been returning to their respective schools.
Let's meet them.
Shaila, Katie and Bridget are all Communications and Development Interns from Stonehill College. Shaila will be helping out with the 15th Annual Father's Day Road Race as well as leading some activities in the FETCH! Lab. Katie is doing lots of PR and helping plan February Vacation's WhoDunnit? activities. You may also find Bridget in the FETCH! Lab a she'll be leading activities in addition to her other duties. The next blog post will probably come from her!
We are also joined by Leo from Curry College. He's learning the ropes as we speak. Let's not forget that Danielle is still with us as we'll doing a great job as always.
We are looking forward to working with them this semester. I'm sure they will do a great job and have lots of new ideas to contribute to the Museum and all the great events we have planned.

We'd also like to take a moment to thank the great students from Bridgewater State College and Stonehill College who helped us with our Martin Luther King Day activities. We made a new mosaic sign for Rising, our African elephant sculpture. You can see it when the Wild Place opens in the spring!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a Happy Holiday Season! The adoption certificate and photo of our adopted monkey arrived from the WWF and is on display in the FETCH! Lab. People have been voting on a name all week and it looks like "Bananas" is a runaway winner! Vacation week's been great as we have been visited by Cinco the Bloodhound, Douglas the Bernese Mountain Dog, bunnies, a snake, lizard and hedgehog.

The Museum's Family New Year's Parties were loads of fun, despite the snow. We had a confetti blast, the magic of Awesome Robb, made festive party hats and noise makers and got to meet Father Time! You can check out the pictures here.
